Semaglutide Without Insurance in the US: Access and Cost

Semaglutide Without Insurance in the US: Access and Cost

You can pay for semaglutide care in the United States without health insurance, but you still need a clinical evaluation and a valid prescription. Start by identifying the product your clinician recommends, then compare the complete cost of obtaining and monitoring it.

This guide helps you choose a payment route. REMEVi offers bilingual self-pay care in 49 states and Washington, DC, excluding Louisiana. Clinician-required GLP-1 labs are included in its program price.

Three payment routes to check

Your situationNext step
You have insurance, but are unsure whether it covers treatmentAsk the plan about the exact product, diagnosis and authorization. Compare your actual pharmacy payment with any self-pay offer. See the insurance guide.
You are uninsured or will pay for an FDA-approved product yourselfCheck the manufacturer’s current self-pay program and participating pharmacy. Confirm the prescription, eligibility, supply period and ongoing price.
Your clinician identifies a need for a compounded preparationAsk why an available approved product cannot meet that medical need, which pharmacy prepares it, and what the full care plan includes. Compounding is a clinical decision, not simply the next step after an insurance denial.

A commercial copay card is not the same offer as an uninsured self-pay program. Read the terms for your situation before relying on a headline price.

Manufacturer self-pay examples: compare the ongoing supply

These public US offers were checked September 15, 2026. All amounts are USD; eligibility restrictions and changeable terms apply. They are medication offers, not quotes for REMEVi care.

Approved injectable productAdvertised offer and supply
Ozempic penEligible new patients: $199 for each of two starting-dose fills (0.25/0.5 mg), through December 31, 2026. Ongoing: $349 for 0.25/0.5/1 mg or $499 for 2 mg; one box of one pen per manufacturer-defined month. Manufacturer terms
Wegovy penEligible new patients: $199 for each of two starting-dose fills through December 31, 2026. Ongoing: $349 for 0.25–2.4 mg or $399 for HD 7.2 mg; one box of four pens. Manufacturer terms

These doses identify pricing categories, not instructions for starting or changing treatment. Ozempic and Wegovy have different approved uses; your clinician determines which product is appropriate. The tablet offers also have separate dosing and pricing terms. For product differences, see semaglutide, Ozempic and Wegovy.

For an Ozempic-specific budget, use the dedicated uninsured price article. Confirm the current pharmacy quote before paying, including what happens after an introductory offer expires.

Build the full cost before you enroll

Ask each service to fill in the same checklist. A medication-only offer and a bundled care subscription cover different expenses.

Cost or commitmentWhat to confirm
MedicationExact product, route, dose, quantity and how long that supply lasts
Clinical careInitial evaluation, follow-up and any separate membership
Lab workWhich tests your clinician requires, who orders them and who pays
Delivery and suppliesShipping, needles if applicable and any separate charge

Use the GLP-1 cost calculator with written quotes. The sourced program-cost benchmark and its downloadable data show published charges and their limitations. Neither tool determines whether two treatments are medically equivalent.

How REMEVi’s self-pay terms work

The current REMEVi pricing page shows each available term and its full charge. Prices use four-week periods, not calendar months. A 52-week budget contains thirteen four-week periods. Multiplying a four-week price by twelve covers only 48 weeks.

The 12- and 24-week plans are paid in full upfront. Their four-week equivalents help compare costs; they are not installment payments. Stopping renewal does not automatically refund an existing prepaid term. Review the refund policy before paying.

The program includes the clinical evaluation, prescribed preparation, shipping, follow-up and clinician-required GLP-1 labs. The clinician decides which tests and timing fit your situation; this does not mean every outside test is covered. Read the GLP-1 lab guide and bring existing results.

Keep compounded and approved products distinct

Compounded preparations are not FDA-approved and lack established clinical equivalence to approved brands. FDA recommends them only for medical needs an available approved drug cannot meet. Lower cost does not establish equal safety or effectiveness. FDA: unapproved GLP-1 medicines

Before choosing, confirm the pharmacy, written prescription instructions, care language and contact for side effects. REMEVi’s semaglutide page explains its care option; prescribing remains subject to an individual clinical evaluation.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get semaglutide in the United States without insurance?

Insurance is not required to pay for a prescription, but a licensed clinician must evaluate whether treatment is appropriate. Compare approved-product self-pay programs and any medically appropriate compounded option separately.

Does a manufacturer price include my clinic visits and labs?

Do not assume so. Ask for separate medication, consultation, follow-up, lab and shipping charges. Manufacturer offers have product-specific eligibility and supply terms.

Are REMEVi plans billed by calendar month?

No. REMEVi uses four-week periods. The 12- and 24-week plans require full payment upfront; clinician-required GLP-1 labs are included. Cancellation of renewal and refund eligibility are separate.
